Landmark Hanover Inn gets a makeover

Rochelle Lash of the Montreal Gazette takes a look at Dartmouth College’s newly remodeled Hanover Inn, designed by Cambridge Seven Associates and interior designer Bill Rooney and developer Carpenter & Company.

Designed to provide this Dartmouth College hotel with a modern, contemporary look with new conference facilities, the renovation and expansion project included improvements to 108 guest rooms, a newly redesigned lobby and public spaces, a breakfast/dining area, the new PINE restaurant, and more than 11,000 square feet of conference and meeting space. A new corridor connects the Inn to the Hood Museum of Art, Hopkins Center for the Arts, and the Black Family Visual Arts Center.

Lash says of the Inn, “I stepped into a new and beautiful world where modern design and striking artworks complement the classics of handsome New England décor. In the lobby, a new skylight brings out the best of creamy off-white walls, a discreet fireplace reading corner and a nearly 1,300-kg table of impressive New Hampshire granite.”
