Greensboro SciQuarium breaks attendance records, welcomes 100,000th visitor
Nancy McLaughlin from News & Record announces the Greensboro Science Center’s Carolina SciQuarium, which has set several attendance records since opening 45 days earlier, welcomed its 100,0000th visitor.
Cambridge Seven Associates provided the architectural and exhibit design for the new aquarium addition, working with associate architect MMPA. The SciQuarium features six main habitats, showcasing otters, penguins, fishing cats, a touchtank with rays, a shark tank, and an Amazon habitat, as well as four SciPod education stations with interactive exhibits that teach visitors about how the animals are cared for and how they find food in the wild.
“In a dream scenario, we were thinking 50,000 people (by this time). We doubled it,” said executive director Glenn Dobrogosz.
