BWI Observation Lounge

Design of interactive aviation-themed exhibits for Baltimore airport terminal lounge

The Baltimore Washington International Airport Observation Lounge presents a behind-the-scenes look at commercial air travel through interpretive exhibits. Cambridge Seven Associates developed exhibits on takeoff and landing, historic air travel, weather, and air control as well as a flight simulator, a radio listening station, identification flipbooks, and a children's play area. In addition to the cross-section of a jet used in the exhibit, large artifacts are displayed, including an aircraft wing, fuselage section, cockpit, and vertical stabilizer. Interestingly enough, this same jet was used to transport members of the Baltimore Orioles baseball team.
