Calling Attention to Hunger and Poverty
Heifer International Education Center
Heifer Village master plan and interactive exhibit design for non-profit organization's education center
Heifer International commissioned Cambridge Seven Associates to provide master planning for Heifer Village and design exhibits for the Murphy Keller Education Center to educate visitors about Heifer’s mission to end extreme hunger and poverty. The exhibits provide visitors with information about how limited access to health care, infrastructure, education, fair markets and sustainable agriculture affect the world’s poor. Audio and video programs introduce visitors to Heifer projects around the world, while tactile and immersive exhibits explode myths, present the conditions, and offer solutions to ending poverty and hunger. In keeping with Heifer’s core principal of caring for the earth, Cambridge Seven specified environmentally friendly finishes for the exhibits and took advantage of natural light to reduce the amount of electricity and lighting required.
