Design of interactive natural history and aquarium exhibits for nature/visitor center
C7A’s exhibit design team developed interpretive and naturalistic exhibits for the new Robins Nature and Visitor Center at Maymont in Richmond, Virginia. After first orienting visitors to activities on the 100-acre site, the exhibits in the Visitor Center introduce life at Maymont during the turn of the century via personal artifacts, decorative arts, interactive videos, murals, and interpretive text panels. The Nature Center presents the diverse ecological and historical significance of the James River's Fall Line. The river's edge is recreated along a 120-foot long naturalistic habitat, incorporating 13 aquarium tanks. Adjacent galleries focus on the geology, waterpower, animals and fish of the river.
