Northeastern Alumni Center

Architectural, interior, and graphic design for university alumni center and office renovation

Cambridge Seven Associates designed the first facility devoted to alumni events for Northeastern University's 88-year-old Alumni Association. The Alumni Center is located on the top floor of the restored Columbus Place, an historic 6-story structure that once housed a tobacco company. The premier venue for gatherings, lectures and social activities is the Alumni Pavilion, a corner space offering a majestic view of the Boston skyline. The Center connects a multi-use dining and meeting space, home to the new C7A-designed Faculty Club, which takes advantage of the top floor's column-free, tobacco-drying space with its distinctive saw-toothed ceiling to create an elegant dining experience and the new President's office, also designed by C7A. The Faculty Club features a full-service kitchen, while an adjacent informal lounge provides a full-service bar, online E-Bar, and a relaxing “living room” feel.
