Manufactory Becomes Marine Research Center
Ocean Alliance Headquarters
Master planning and architectural design for adaptive reuse of historic factory into marine research center
Cambridge Seven's design for the adaptive reuse of the historic Tarr and Wonson Paint Manufactory in Gloucester will provide Ocean Alliance with a state of the art headquarters to pursue marine mammal research, conservation and education globally. This iconic yet abandoned building complex situated at the Gloucester Harbor entrance will also include a remote conferencing facility, art and community center, an education center and library, research laboratory and a glazed photovoltaic-covered inner courtyard connecting the five-building complex into one contiguous non-profit headquarters.
