Improving Science Learning in the Region
The Manitoba Museum
Architectural and exhibit master plan for science, natural history, and cultural history museum
Cambridge Seven Associates, in association with the Liberty Science Center, was commissioned to provide architectural and exhibit master planning services for The Manitoba Museum. Reflecting the Museum's core values and its goals to enhance visitor amenities, promote science learning, improve storage for museum collections, and expand the educational wing and exhibit galleries, the renovations are designed to be completed in four phases. The first phase introduces a central spine, creating a new way for visitors to experience the people and places of Manitoba. Phase 2 replaces the Planetarium with a new digital multimedia dome theater. In Phase 3, a new tower will be built to the north, creating the My Manitoba gallery, while the final phase creates a new "Issues & Innovations" gallery at the Concourse level.
