Maritime Aquarium Renovation

Architectural design for aquarium renovation as well as new exhibits and wayfinding

C7A’s renovations to The Maritime Aquarium (TMA) were designed to renew the visitor experience for this important institution in Norwalk, Connecticut. In addition to the new and revitalized exhibits, which included a new Long Island Sound exhibit, large Shark and Ray Touch Pool, and upgrades to the existing harbor seal exhibit, C7A also developed new wayfinding and graphics to help orient the visitor, create a unified image for the different galleries, and provide a new outdoor presence for the 23-year-old aquarium. New window graphics were created as well as an outdoor courtyard with a children’s playground.
