The Scientific Center of Kuwait

Master planning, architectural and exhibit design for aquarium and children's science museum in Kuwait

The spirit of Kuwait echoes through the architecture and exhibits of this combined museum and aquarium, with traditional Kuwaiti souk, Sadu weavings, Islamic patterns, colors of the desert, Bedouin tents, and dhow sailing ships providing the overall design inspiration. Located on Kuwait's waterfront, the 194,000-square-foot Scientific Center of Kuwait designed by C7A integrates the Discovery Place Children’s Museum, an Aquarium, and IMAX theater into a rich blending of natural and physical science experiences. Developed by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, it serves as a center of excellence for public environmental education, focusing on the natural habitats of the sea, coast, and desert of the Arabian Peninsula.
