“Restless Planet” Exhibit

Architectural renovation and design of new immersive and interactive aquarium exhibit

The Virginia Aquarium recently updated exhibits and dramatically overhauled its main exhibit gallery. The renovations at the Virginia Aquarium, designed by Peter Sollogub while with CSP and completed while with C7A, include a new lobby and museum shop as well as a number of new exhibits that introduce visitors to the Virginia ecosystem and history. The signature exhibit, Restless Planet, a 10,000-square-foot immersive habitat, features 6,000 new animals and educates visitors about the forces that helped shape the Virginia landscape into what it is today. Signature species featured in the Restless Planet exhibit include Komodo dragons, 13’ long salt water crocodiles, eagle rays in a walk-through Red Sea reef, live coral and diverse species including cobras and sea horses.
